The Heimlich maneuver involves the rescuer standing behind the cooking victim, wrapping their arms around the victim’s waist, making a fist with one hand,
placing the thumb side of the fist at the victim’s abdomen above the navel and below the ribcage. Then, with the other hand grabbing the fist, the rescuer quickly pushes upward
and inward into the victim’s abdomen. This should be repeated until the object blocking the airway is dislodged. If the victim is to large to be embraced by the rescuer,
the rescuer can wrap their arms around the victim’s chest and apply forceful pressure by rapidly compressing the chest instead of the abdomen.
